Learn the fundamentals of creating stained glass art! In this workshop, you will learn all of the steps required to create your own unique stained glass suncatcher from start to finish.
No prior experience necessary.
You will select a pattern from several design options, and then choose your glass to create a one of a kind stained glass suncatcher.
We’ll cover the copper foil method technique, including cutting, grinding, soldering and hanging your piece.
What’s included
All materials and tools are included in the price of the class.
There will be a demonstration for each of the steps, plus some 1-on-1 guidance.
Class space is limited to 8 participants, so registration is required.
Itinerary
In this hands-on 6 hour workshop, you’ll learn:
● How to cut glass pieces using a vinyl pattern
● How to grind glass pieces for a perfect fit
● How to foil glass pieces
● How to achieve smooth, seamless solder lines
● Pro tips and tricks for clean, consistent results
● Techniques in creating your own jump rings and attaching them
● Basics of beading the edge vs tinning
● How to troubleshoot common issues and pivot when things go off-track
● Cleaning and polishing methods
Check-in details
Please arrive a few minutes early for class to ensure a smooth start! We will begin class right on
time, so arriving ahead allows you to settle in, have plenty of time to select your project without
feeling rushed, and make the most of our valuable class time together.
What to Bring
Please wear close toed shoes.
Special requirements
Any participants age 16 and younger will need a parent or guardian also taking the class.
Health & Safety
We will be using lead solder and flux for our stained glass projects.
Nitrile gloves, protective eyewear, and aprons will be provided.
Lead removing wipes and/or lead removing soap will also be available.
